As the crisp cool air of the fall starts to make its way in, it’s the perfect time to take inventory of your outerwear. I like to keep a few different styles of coats on hand, depending on where I’m going. Typically, I like to have a puffer, a longline wool coat and a faux fur coat. Those three styles will cover you from casual to dressy occasions. Today I’m rounding up the fall and winter coats I have my eye on to help you find the perfect coat for your wardrobe.

The Fall & Winter Coats I Have My Eye On
Puffer Coat
A puffer coat is a great casual option to wear with athleisure looks, denim jeans and leggings. I particularly love this option because it’s a knee-length silhouette, giving extra coverage and warmth. It also has three snaps at the bottom in case you want to give the coat more movement. It comes in two other colors and 41 inches in length.
Wool Coat
A longline wool blend coat makes a great coat to wear to work or for more dressy occasions. There are a variety of styles that you can wear from Dad coats to belted blanket coats and open-front coats with exaggerated shawl collars. This houndstooth Dad coat from Abercrombie is one of my favorites this season. I love the beautiful “brown pattern” color – feels very rustic for the fall season. But it also comes in seven other colors. The best part about it is that it comes in varying lengths too, so you can get that perfect fit no matter how tall or petite you are.
Though wool coats are great for more elevated looks, you can also wear them with leggings and jeans too. That’s why it’s great to have options when it comes to outerwear, so you can mix it up.
Faux Fur Coat
The third coat everyone should have in their closet is a faux fur coat. These are so much fun to wear for a date night, girls night out or other special occasions. They instantly take your outfit to another level of style and sophistication. Plus they’re insanely warm. This Linnea faux fur jacket by Lamarque is stunning with its beautiful collar and longline design. It comes in two other colors and has a single snap button closure.
A coat is a clothing item I like to invest in because it can last you for many seasons. You also want to make sure the quality is there to provide the warmth you need for the coldest of days, especially if you walk more than you drive places around town.
