Open Houses… All Over Town! 

Hosted by the Chicago Architecture Center, Open House Chicago provides behind-the-scenes access to more than 150 architecturally, historically and culturally significant sites throughout the city and nearby suburbs. This year’s participating sites include the private Cliff Dwellers Club at 200 S. Michigan Ave and the 95-year-old Avalon Regal Theater on the city’s South Side.

Cost: Free 
Location: 20+ Chicago neighborhoods and the nearby suburbs

An Extravagant Culinary Experience 

Benefiting Meals on Wheels Chicago, the Celebrity Chef Ball promises an unforgettable evening of fine dining. Begin with a cocktail reception featuring specialty drinks from the city’s finest mixologists, and then sit down to a 6-course meal prepared at your table. Among the renowned chefs donating their time and talents are Stephanie Hart from Brown Sugar Bakery, Soo Ahn from Adalina, and Austin Adler from Maple & Ash.

ALL ABOARD! Railroad Photography Exhibit 

Experience some of the striking works of Jack Delano, an accomplished photographer who worked for, among others, the Works Progress Administration and Farm Security Administration. In “RAILROADERS: Jack Delano’s Homefront Photography”, you’ll discover a striking visual exploration of the hard work and heroism of railway workers during World War II. Exhibit runs through Dec 30.

Cost: $10 (Free for Historic Pullman Foundation members)

Not Just Another Brick in the Wall… 

Now extended at the Museum of Science & Industry, “The Art of the Brick” is the world’s largest display of LEGO® art! Discover more than 100 sculptures created by artist Nathan Sawaya using more than one million LEGO® bricks. In addition to original works like a 20-foot Tyrannosaurus Rex skeleton are re-imagined versions of classic masterpieces such as Michelangelo’s David and Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa.

Time: 9:30 am to 4:00 pm 
Cost: Adults: $14 with $21.95 for museum entry, Children: $11 with $12.95 for museum entry
