Drop recently launched its new collaboration with EPOS, the Drop + EPOS H3X headset. The goal is to deliver next-level listening experiences to individuals for all their needs including gaming and working at a consumer-friendly price point of $79.
This new headset is built on the design and performance of the PC38X with some tweaks based on community feedback. The H3X is a closed-back headset with improved frequency response. It’s made of a high-quality polycarbonate frame and memory foam earcups for comfort. Talking about the H3X, Jef Holove of Drop said:
When we began designing the Drop + EPOS H3X, we were committed to developing a product that offers stellar build quality, superior sound quality, and aesthetics, as well as improves upon the original EPOS H3 headset – all at a consumer-friendly price. Our collection of headsets with EPOS is well regarded by our community and beyond, and we’re thrilled to introduce the Drop + EPOS H3X, providing users with greater access to high-performance audio products.
Honestly, I would normally say you could find a comparable or viable headset for less than $79. That might still be true even. However, I have loved my EPOS H3PRO Hybrid headset. It’s become my go-to headset of choice. It sounds great and is comfortable. If the H3X is similar at all to the H3PRO, it’s going to be a solid option. One important detail to note about the H3X is that it is only wired via a 3.5mm connector and does not appear to have Bluetooth or a USB connection option. Here are more specs:
Form factor: Over-ear
Profile: Closed-back
Volume control on ear cup
Flip-to-mute boom microphone
Headset frequency response: 20-20.000 Hz
Microphone frequency response: 100-10,000 Hz
Driver size: 40mm
Weight (without cable): 270g
You can purchase the H3X now from Drop or your favorite retailers now.
